Come, Shop
in the
Village of
St. Jacobs!
VILLAGE
SHOPS ARE OPEN EVERY DAY year around;
Little St. Jacobs (population
1,400) is big on providing warm hospitality and we look forward
to seeing you this season, whether you are coming from around the
corner or from around the world!
Ask any visitor to St. Jacobs Country
what the highlights are and you'll get as many different responses
as there are things to see and do! But close to the hearts of thousands
of visitors is the scenic riverside Village of St. Jacobs where
the simplicities of small-town life complement the fabulous shopping
in over 100 specialty shops. No doubt the great
restaurants or the charming
inns that offer instant stress relief are considered highlights
too.

If finding the ideal
gift or home décor item is your mission, the 100 shops and
boutiques in the village will make your pursuit a breeze. Antiques,
one-of-kind items, fashion and fashion accessories are the hallmarks
of the St. Jacobs shopping experience. The cachet of a "Made in
St. Jacobs" craft cannot be denied. Get used to the compliments
when you bring your new purchase home!
In every
way and around every corner, you'll find ample of the old in St.
Jacobs to evoke feelings of nostalgia, but enough of the new to
please modern tastes. And speaking of tastes, come to savour the
oven fresh, "better-than-grandma's" Dutch apple pie from the Bakery,
or the temptations of Spring's first maple
syrup.
Come
to hear the peaceful noon chimes from the church tower or the clatter
of horse hooves and buggy wheels on streets lined with heritage
buildings. Come to see the best in regional professional
theatre presented at one of two very unique venues, or journey
through the history,
lifestyle, and faith of the local Old Order Mennonite community
at The Mennonite Story.
