Quilting
is an integral part of this region's heritage, so it is fitting
that
we're known
as "The Quilt Capital of Canada". The month of May is
the time
when the
communities of St. Jacobs, Waterloo, Kitchener, Cambridge &
New Hamburg
come together
to host a variety of exceptional quilting and fibre arts events.
While you
are here, visit the many fine shops and galleries open year round!

JACOBS QUILT GALLERY

Jacobs
Visit the year-round St.
Jacobs Quilt Gallery on the third level of The Mill. The Gallery
has an ever-changing exhibit of quilts representing the best of
the quilter's craft.
Guest Artist: Leslie
Irvine
Sewing and painting have
always been part of Leslie’s life. Her quilting journey and
addiction to fabric began in 1990 in Edmonton Alberta where she
took quilting classes at “Earthly Goods” the local quilt
store. An active member of the Grand Quilt Guild for many years
and Co-President for the last two, Leslie is coordinator of Community
Projects for the guild. Five years ago she became the owner of Reichards
The Quilters Store, which has recently re-located to Hachborn St.
in St Jacobs. Her quilts can be seen around the world in places
like Jordan, Australia, Thailand, Taiwan, England, Ireland, Scotland
and of course, Canada. Leslie says she quilts because she enjoys
the creative process and loves being involved in the quilting community.
