Doon Heritage Crossroads

Doon Heritage Crossroads re-creates a 1914 rural village and two farms, with more than twenty-five historic buildings, costumed interpreters, period furnishings, rare breed farm animals, heritage gardens, and demonstrations of daily chores. We help visitors to the Region of Waterloo discover an exciting era of change in Canadian history.

Complimentary guidebooks are available in English, German, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Braille, and large-print.

The museum is open daily through Labour Day from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
From Labour Day through December 23, the museum is open weekdays and some weekends for special events.

Homer Watson House & Gallery

Homer Watson House & Gallery is the homestead of Homer Watson, Canada's first noted landscape artist (1855-1936). Today the Gallery operates as a museum, gallery and visual arts centre, offering over 200 programs each year. For more information, please visit our website at www.homerwatson.on.ca

Woodside National Historic Site



This living history site, featuring a historic house meticulously furnished to the 1891 time period, was the boyhood home of prime minister William Lyon Mackenzie King. Many artifacts on view belonged to the King family. The site offers tours, special events and educational programs, costumed guides, A/V shows, 11 acres of property with self-guiding trails and picnic area, motor coach parking. Restrooms have limited wheelchair accessibility.
Fees: Fees are subject to changes.
Adult $3.95 Senior $3.45 5 and under Free
Youth $1.95 Family $9.90
Season’s passes are available. Groups (10 person minimum) by appointment,
$2.95 per person.
Open: Victoria Day weekend to December 23, 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. daily.
The site is open as well for group tours year-round, by appointment, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily.

Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics

Perimeter Institute is a research centre of the highest international standing based in Waterloo. St. Jacobs Quilt Gallery
Located at The Mill in St. Jacobs, adjacent to the Maple Syrup Museum, the St. Jacobs Quilt Gallery showcases exciting examples of quilting excellence. Exhibits change every few months and feature the work of individual artists, as well as groups and guilds. Visit the Gallery and discover why this region has become known as "the quilt capital of Canada." Be sure to visit during the St. Jacobs & Region-Wide Quilt Shows - held annually in May.

Stratford Festival Of Canada

Elliott Avedon Museum and Archive of Games

The Museum collection includes over 5000 physical objects many of which have been exhibited in the on-campus Public Gallery since 1971.

The museum website makes it possible for the University of Waterloo to offer to a much wider public the opportunity to enjoy the objects in the collection. It features photographs and documentary text about many individual items in the collection. Presented in the form of 'Virtual Exhibits', each documentary webpage includes one or more illustrations of collection objects.

Electronic Games
January to August 2008
Public Gallery of the Elliott Avedon Museum and Archive of Games, University of Waterloo.
This new exhibit will feature approximately 50 games and related information showing the evolution of electronic games, including a variety of games, consoles and historic information. Visitors will also have the opportunity to play games both on more recent and dated consoles showing how advanced the technology has become.

The Maple Syrup Museum

Telling The Mennonite Story
At the Visitor Centre in St. Jacobs
Learn about the history, culture and beliefs of the Mennonite people at this newly refurbished attraction. Take a multi-media journey into the Mennonite Story: View the new DVD presentations and see the collection of photos and artifacts. $4.00 per person suggested donation. Hours vary seasonally. Group visits can be arranged by appointment and group rates include a guided tour.
